Problem installing Bluefish. pkg-config is missing
I'm trying to install bluefish and I'm getting the following error message:
pkg-config not found please install pkg-config
during the ./configure face
I have downloaded and install successfully the pkgconfig.0.17.2 into the usr/local directory but I still receive the same error message.
Why it can't see the pkg-config? Have I installed in a wrong place?
Thank you in advance,
Rodo

Hi rodotheos,
Why not try to get Bluefish (or at least pkg-config) through Yast>Install and Remove Software?

Hi rodotheos,
Yast is a great tool that among other things, will allow you to download packages off a yast repository and install it along with all of its dependancies.
- Open Yast (System>Yast)
- Enter your root password
- Click on 'Change Source of Installation'
- Click on 'Add'>'FTP...'
- Since you are in Greece, we will add a Greek mirror (I assume this will be the fastest for you)
- in the Server Name box, type ftp.softnet.tuc.gr
- for the Diretory on Server, type pub/linux/suse/suse/i386/9.1
- click OK and give it some time to add the source
- once that is complete, click Finish
- click 'Install and Remove Software'
- since this will be your first time using this source, it may take a while to read the source. Be patient until it is finished saying 'Reading Package Information; One Moment Please'
- when that is complete, you now have a search box where you can search for software in the repository (the one I gave you says it is complete, so there should be quite a bit of software)
- simply search 'Bluefish' and check the box next to it
- click 'Accept' and it will let you know if there are any dependancies it will require. It will now proceed to download and install the program along with all the dependancies
Hope that helps,
