    The manpages are always named after the program file itself. To get the manpage for ls, run "man ls", to get the man page for sort, run "man sort", and if you download and install, say, XMMS, run "man xmms" to get its manpage. Note that not all programs come with manpages, though most do.
    Sometimes you can also use "info <program>", to get a texinfo manual for the program, that is often more thorough than the manpage.

    in grip when i try to rip cd to mp3 it just hangs and never starts ripping..

    do you have an mp3 encoder (r whateverits called) installed as well?
