Any apps for network management in Linux? Switched network. Would prefer it to be free. Really just need something that'll give me information on the network's computers (hardware specs, maybe software, IP address list, etc).
. . . I'm also open to windows apps that do this

Use ifconfig :
for how to use it.Code:man ifconfig
Also traceroute, netstat, nmap, and so on, try using www.google.com/linux, and forgot about using windows cause network is a *nix job, let windows do its job (you know, get broken when you most need it :P )
