Use Gaim. Be sure to have at least v0.60, though.

hmm from what i last heard it cant send files...only recive....that true? or is there a new version that can send also

That's not true. That only happens if you have a firewall that blocks incoming connections.

ok in that case...i just DLed and compiled v0.66 and i see no option to send files. searched up and down.

Oh, sorry. I just checked the docs again and it seems that I misinterpreted it the first time. Gaim cannot send files.

gaim CAN send files thru the aim client
