    k3b/xcdroast write speed problem


    With both burn software I've got the same problem. I can't pass 1x/2x write speed. However both burners detects my dvd-rw write speed correctly.
    Could anyone give me a hand

    try enabling dma
    Code:
    hdparm -d1 /dev/hdx
    x = your partion letter of cdburner

    I did what you told me and...

    /dev/hda:
    setting using_dma to 1 (on)
    using_dma = 1 (on)

    but didn't work

    It's working

    All I had to do was, add this line to lilo.conf and run lilo:
    Code:
    append="hda=ide-scsi"
    It seems that my dvdrw needs scsi emulation.

    they always need this, it's an important thing to remember, it's the same for cd-rw's
