With both burn software I've got the same problem. I can't pass 1x/2x write speed. However both burners detects my dvd-rw write speed correctly.
Could anyone give me a hand

try enabling dma
x = your partion letter of cdburnerCode:hdparm -d1 /dev/hdx

I did what you told me and...
/dev/hda:
setting using_dma to 1 (on)
using_dma = 1 (on)
but didn't work

It's working

All I had to do was, add this line to lilo.conf and run lilo:
It seems that my dvdrw needs scsi emulation.Code:append="hda=ide-scsi"
