    Limewire is good, just make sure you have Java installed.

    Yip, aMule is truly great . Shareaza is also available for Linux i think, otherwise Limewire, Gnutella, ... Plenty of choice

    apollon is nice. It connects to gift, gnutella, and pretty much every other network.

    It *does* require a lot of KDE shite, though...

    Agree! I currently run apollon connected to ares, fasttrack, gnutella and openft and there's still lots of gift-plugins I haven't tryed! And, as you said, the only reason I have kdelibs installed is to use apollon, I find none of the other gift-interfaces good enough...

    lots of bittorrent clients... like Azureus (really nice one)

    So, it depends what network you use, but my advice is mldonkey (KMLDonkey is the preferred KDE client for it).
