    GAIM: How can I see invisible users

    I was trying to hack Gaim so I can see invisible users as well but no luck. Has anyone tried this so far? I can see that the user is invisible if I use fe. http://www.blockstatus.com/icq/status-checker

    You don't.

    And that link works ONLY if the individual has the web aware crap turned on. Otherwise, if will not reveal if the person is invisible or not.

    It seems to me if a person wants to be invisible, hacking something so you can see them would infringe on that person's rights to remain invisible.

    If I were you, I would just leave well enough alone.

    Well, in this case if I can clearly see that this person IS invisible using that web tool, I would like to see him also in Gaim. That's my intention..

    The only reason you see the person is because they don't have ICQ set properly and have the web aware activated.

    Leave well enough alone. If a person is invisible, there's a reason for it and like most of us, would take a very dim view of people trying to get around that.

    Anyway why do you want to see invisible people, you can't contact the invisible anyway... Many of the invisible don't even sit in front of the computer!
