Menu installation?
I need help in undertanding Linux Suse 9,3 method of installing software programs. I had thought I install a tarball program only to learn that I didn't see the launch icon on the desktop or in the menu. I'm able to see where the program is located and I can manually launch the program. Ok, how do I install it in the "menu" so I don't have to manually start the program anymore? It would be nice to simply click on a icon to launch the program. Thanks.

Right-click on the desktop.
On the menu that comes up, there should be an option to add a launcher/application.
Click on it, and follow the wizard.
Where it asks for command, put the command that you use to launch it from the terminal. How to know if you are a geek.
