Interesting. Anyway, I'm fairly sure that some KDE program supports Exchange communication as well. I haven't ever actually used KDE, so I can't tell for sure which one it was, but check k-mail and KDE's PIM suite, whatever it is called again.
If nothing else helps, you may want to file a bugzilla report on the exchange connector for Evo. ;-)
