CVS server error when connecting from WinCVS
I have a CVS repository set up on a Mandrake Linux 9.1 system and everything seems to work fine locally. I can import modules, checkout/commit, etc from a bash prompt. However, when someone attempts to import a module into the repository from WinCVS from a Windows 2000 machine, they get the following error:
cvs -z9 import -I ! -I CVS -W "*.mdb -k 'b'" -W "*.udl -k 'u'" -m "This is a WinCVS test import" dbFolder avendor arelease (in directory C:\dbFolder)
cvs import: warning: unrecognized response `The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.
' from cvs server
cvs [import aborted]: end of file from server (consult above messages if any)
***** CVS exited normally with code 1 *****
The WinCVS user is using :ext: to connect through ssh with plink and a public key. It looks like the user is able to connect to the repository, but can't do anything with it. Any ideas why the server is responding with this error, and how to fix it?
