It times out on me everytime. Is the port and server configuration defualt in gaim wrong ...

Does anybody else have a problem connecting to aim using gaim in slackware 10.1?

Which version of Gaim do you use? Have you tried 1.4 already? Contains some bug fixes, maybe concerning your problem.

I have 1.4 but aim still hangs

I have the exact same problem with gaim, and when it does connect it tells me invalid password; however, I have never had this problem with kopete...
