Playing DAT files in Linux
I have got Real Player 10 as well as MPlayer both in the linux version, but am unable to play DAT files in any of them. Does Linux support DAT video files ?
If anyone can help me out, that will be great for me.

I've found mplayer will play pretty much anything you can throw at it, did you download the codec pack for it? you can get that here;
http://www1.mplayerhq.hu/homepage/design7/codecs.html
Select "all codecs for Linux x86 (Win32 .dll and Linux .so)" and put them in the proper directory, that's usually /usr/local/lib/codecs, although I prefer to use /usr/local/lib/mplayer/codecs and then specify the directory when compiling with 'configure --with-codecsdir=/usr/local/lib/mplayer/codecs'.
That's also another thing, compile mplayer from source, it's good practice to do so, and make sure you have the codecs before you compile it.
