Unzip and extract the tarbundle:

Code:
tar -zxvf <tarfile>
Go in to the new directory:
cd <newdirname>
Read the README or INSTALL file

To compile and install, just execute:

./configure
make
make test
make install

When you open a terminal like xterm,gnome-terminal you will see a prompt like this:[root@localhost root]# thats called a prompt and everything that you do in the terminal calls the commandline, like dos in MS.
