is there any way that i can run the qtparted feature on my blank hard disk? (in other words, can i download an iso of this program so it runs off of the CD?) lemme kno please!

Yes, if you use any live-cd (such as Knoppix) that contains qtparted, you should be able to use it on your blank drive. You could also let any distro you want to install do the partitioning for you, if you know what partitions you want to create, or if you want to let the distro take care if it automatically.

Agreed... SystemRescueCD and Knoppix are the two best live-cd tools out there, in my opinion. I keep copies of both on hand.
