Stumped by Firefox
Hi all.
Currently running PCLinuxOS. This has been a solid install and I've had no problems until now.
Out of the blue, Firefox (1.06) will not connect to any site. I have no problems with anything else that connects to the net though (ie konqueror, kmail etc). The preferences are set correctly for a direct connection.
I've completely uninstalled and re-installed and deleted the ~/.mozilla directory to no avail.
If anyone has any ideas, I'm all ears...

Ok, I figured it out.
It seems a LOT of people are having problems with 1.06 in both windows and Linux. After some more checking I entered an IP address (numerical) into the address bar. Hmmm... That worked. I then checked the /etc/hosts file. What a mishmash of borked garbage. It appears that the synaptic upgrade of Firefox made it go BOOM! Re-nstalled a fresh MVPS hosts file.
All works well now.
