Cannot connect to X server while trying to install openoffice
Hi,
firstly I tyring to install remotely openoffice from a xp machine. I have no prior experience in installing unix I'm using putty as the console window to issue command and using leapftp to ftp the tar file into the desired directory.
Type of installation: Single-User Installation
Method: installing from a download set on unix
while trying to install openoffice,
I type the following command ./setup.
It give me this error:
./setup cannot connect to X server
any one has solution for this?

If you have access to the computer then you need to start X server on it and execute ./setup. Or you can configure VPN to the box, connect and do it through that.
What distribution are you working with?
