    First of all, I have a general question: if a burn a data CD of all mp3 files, will it work on my portable mp3 player? Second, are there any free mp3 disk burning programs for Windows?

    Yes it should work, mp3 cd's are just data cd's. There are free burning programs for Windows Xp, just do some googling. There's some good stuff out there.
