    hey whats up with my GIMP ?

    the first time after installation from non-root user i try to run Gimp ... it did not run it says:-

    /usr/share/gimp1.2/user_install does not exist.
    Cannot install
    Installation failed. Contact system administrator

    so what is the easiest way to fix that?

    should delete the user and add a new one?

    You really need this script to do some pre things.I think your make install staff was not complete.
    The easy way is just to got this script or redo ./configure;make; make install.
