Bit of an odd one I know......
Friend of mine does Karaoke DJing and is looking at using his laptop to play files in a format known as MP3+G (ie MP3 music but with video for the lyrics.
Clearly using a windows based laptop or similar would work, but he has aksed if I think he could use Linux as his software is not totally legit and he is worried about getting in bother for using it commercially.
Anyone know if there is a Linux based media player style application that might play this format?
I could possibly email/FTP a file for someone to test as I don't have a linux PC (sorry
)
All feedback greatly appreciated.

What kind of file format is that. What's the name of the program he uses to play it?

The format is called MP3+G I believe - On Windows he uses http://www.tricerasoft.com/tyrannosoft/breeze.html to play this back but they don't appear to do a Linux version.
I am not sure if you can play these back with media player - i will check.

check xmms.org, they have a nice extensable player that might be able to include that. I assume mp3+g is a publicly defined format? If so that makes it easier to do.
I respectfully decline the invitation to join your delusion.
