If you have anything else that works better great! I just need to get my kiss player to access files off my linux server (running ubuntu).

First GCC, than kissd as described on http://www.popies.net/kissd/
Basically, follow the instructions here: http://www.popies.net/kissd/
I'm using kissd with ubuntu hoary hedgehog. I only needed to install GCC before installing kissd. Just go to Synaptic, search for GCC, pick GCC, apply changes and you're done. kissd can than be made and installed and can be configured just as described on the abovementioned project-website.

I can use pc-link from a windows machine without problems
When I run kissd (on my linux server), I can detect my server from my kiss, but
- I cannot browse de jpegs
- I can browse the divx'es, but cannot run them (nothings happen)
Any idea/suggestions?

Perhaps it is a problem with the permissions? Try changing the permission of the files you want to use.
