    kpackage tries to reinstall everything...

    Hi
I have been having problems with installing some programs in kpackage. Some of these programs include:
    amarok
    kasteroids
    kbounce

Whenever i try to install them they try to install 200+apps including:
    kpackage
    kmail
just about anything with a k in front of the name.

when i do install these program konqueror starts complaining that it is missing MIME files. So then i reinstalled linux (this is my 2nd day).
I am running a dual windows/linux running simply mepis v3.3 from the next handbooks CD.

Could anybody help me about some of the packages that try to install everything?
    Thanks
    Delta

IIRC this happend to me when I was installing things wich needed a lot of the KDE system to be updated too. Once the updates are finnished you should be able to logout/login and all will be fine again.

If you want to work with while installing these programs without getting disturbed, you could do the updates while in the Gnome desktop environment instead of the KDE desktop environment.

Alternativlly, you can (I think) install these programs when installing suse itself, this will make the install of suse longer, but you'll have all the packages you want installed and ready for you when you start up.
