    libGL.so.1 problems

    I have been looking all over the web for solutions to this. I installed the NVIDIA 7676 drivers into my Gentoo installation but have been unable to get GLX working properly. I am having a problem getting the link for libGL.so.1 to work properly. It is in the /usr/lib folder like all the other files. Here is where the file is located according to find / -name libGL.so.1:
    /usr/lib64/libGL.so.1
    /usr/lib32/opengl/nvidia/lib/libGL.so.1
    /usr/lib32/libGL.so.1

    Here is a directory listing from /usr/lib:
    ls -ln libGL*
    -rw-r--r-- 1 0 0 653 Oct 15 02:07 libGL.la
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 0 0 10 Oct 15 02:07 libGL.so -> libGL.so.1
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 0 0 17 Oct 15 02:39 libGL.so.1 -> libGL.so.1.0.7676
    -rwxr-xr-x 1 0 0 518220 Oct 15 02:07 libGL.so.1.0.7676
    -rw-r--r-- 1 0 0 904038 Oct 15 02:01 libGLU.a
    -rw-r--r-- 1 0 0 754 Oct 15 02:01 libGLU.la
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 0 0 13 Oct 15 02:01 libGLU.so -> libGLU.so.1.3
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 0 0 13 Oct 15 02:01 libGLU.so.1 -> libGLU.so.1.3
    -rwxr-xr-x 1 0 0 622156 Oct 15 02:01 libGLU.so.1.3
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 0 0 21 Oct 15 02:07 libGLcore.so.1 -> libGLcore.so.1.0.7676
    -rwxr-xr-x 1 0 0 7794936 Oct 15 02:07 libGLcore.so.1.0.7676
    -rw-r--r-- 1 0 0 45990 Oct 15 02:01 libGLw.a
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 0 0 13 Oct 15 02:01 libGLw.so -> libGLw.so.1.0
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 0 0 13 Oct 15 02:01 libGLw.so.1 -> libGLw.so.1.0
    -rwxr-xr-x 1 0 0 39635 Oct 15 02:01 libGLw.so.1.0

    All of the directories are properly refered to in ld.so.conf and ldconfig has been ran. I still cant get the file to link properly.

    ldd /usr/bin/glxinfo
    libGLU.so.1 => /usr/lib/libGLU.so.1 (0x00002aaaaabc1000)
    libGL.so.1 => not found
    libXext.so.6 => /usr/lib/libXext.so.6 (0x00002aaaaad46000)
    libX11.so.6 => /usr/lib/libX11.so.6 (0x00002aaaaae57000)
    libpthread.so.0 => /lib/libpthread.so.0 (0x00002aaaab038000)
    libm.so.6 => /lib/libm.so.6 (0x00002aaaab1ce000)
    libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x00002aaaab354000)
    libGL.so.1 => not found
    libstdc++.so.6 =>

    Any help would be appreicated to troubleshoot this. The system I am running this on is a AMD Athlon 64 4200+ X2 and the video cards are 2 GeForce 7800GTX in SLImiode. Though I don't think that will have any effect on this file.

    SOLVED.

    Installing the drivers with the nvidia installer is what caused the problem. To get it to go properly I had to go ahead and do a ACCEPT_KEYWORDS=~amd64" emerge nvidia-glx.

    Had to go ahead and force it to emerge the masked package and it went through good.
