Does deleting old junk mail messages reduce Tbirds ability to accurately detect new ones?

I'm using the junk mail feature in Thunderbird and am really pleased with it. As I understand it, the filter "learns" from the input I give it on what is junk and what is not to make more accurate guesses in the future. I was talking about this with a friend of mine who still uses outlook, and he brought up this question. If you have a full junk mail folder and you delete the messages in it, does that impact the matrix Tbird uses to flag junk mail? What about deleting good mail?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I can't find anything in the documentation that addresses this one way or another. Does anyone here know the answer?

nope,doesn't affect it as tbird keeps a separate log of spam/junk addresses
