    There is no such thing as "Program Files" in linux.

    You install the program to anyware, then you edit the programs menu - in KDE it's done by right clicking on the "K" icon and then creating an entry for the program, where you must give the path to the executable file. I'm not sure how you do this in Gnome, someone else might be able to help with that.
