I use gaim too, most of my friends use trillian. But it aggravates me that slowly but surely most of my friends have migrated to msn. Even my friends that have trillian are just using the MSN client and ignoring the rest.

there is no need to use anything else if you just use msn, its got all the configuration of the normal msn and it aint by or endorsed by microsoft, which is good

i have heard that trillian has been having a hard time keeping up with msn and its protocol. but you could always tell your friends about gaim because they do have a windows version that they can use if they are windows ppl

    installing AMSN

    Hello All,

I am a newbe in Linux and Gaim is not working for MSN so I was reading to install AMSN. I downloaded it, I extracted the zip and tar files. Now i see the files in the msn folder. The question is how do I make it to run? How do I install it? How can I see it on my Linux menu?
I am using Redhat 8.0, Gnome.
    Thanks!
    Rod

I've installed amsn successfully, thanks for the help in this forum. Now I want to dock it in the tray, I downloaded the packages from sourceforge, but the lack of "liblmlib.so.1" stops installation of one of the packages. Where can I get this please?
