Error: missing GLU
I was all pleased with myself a few minutes ago - for the first time, I'd unpacked a tarball un-assisted (xracer), cd'ed to the directory, started to configure the game and then:
Error missing GLU
No probs, I thought - I'll just install it and start again. I can't find it on my Mandriva installation dvd, or in the available packages in my system configuration bit of the desktop. A search of my system comes up with nothing either, so, once again I turn to the nice people here to ask for assistance. (embarassingly - I don't really know what it is..)
Can you help, please?

I'm not sure what GLU is, but a quick search on RPMFind.net found:

Best of luck!

Thanks! That's it installed now.
I did the ./configure thing again, and we're halted now on 'missing GL library'
Does that error mean that the library is not there or just that the installation can't 'see' it?
I put the Mandriva 2006 source dvd back in my drive and searched for 'GL' and 'gl' and installed everything on the disk that the search yielded, but still get halted on the same error. Any clues now, Gurus, please?
