amaroK locking files?
Has anyone found that amaroK incessantly locks files? That is, i have my mp3 collection currently sitting on a Windows machine. Whenever amaroK plays one the file remains locked even after it's finished playing. i can clear the locks manually but this seems a tad superfluous.
This even occurs when scanning the files to 'build my collection' so every file (several hundred) end up locked.
This isn't characteristic of other players i've used (i've switched to XMMS) and i'm wondering if this is something i've done wrong myself or an issue with amaroK?Registered Linux User #379728

Really? Are you looking at the files over samba? I always found that Amarok took a copy of the file, or at least appeared to. I've even renamed or retagged files while they were playing in Amarok without upsetting playback.

The files live on an XP machine and are mounted via fstab as smbfs (is that strictly Samba?).
Playback isn't affected in any way; amaroK can happily play them all. But if any other applications need the files (if i'm playing with the tags for instance) they're all considered locked.Registered Linux User #379728
