Quake 4?

Hey okay here is my dilema it's not that big of a deal but it would be nice to get it figured out. I downloaded the Quake 4 Linux demo installed and started to play it but instantly i noticed that the sound isn't right. I can't really understand what the people are saying and everything comes out with a high god awful screech. Im a complete newb at linux so please make your answer toned down just a bit I got Doom3 to run and it runs perfect with no problems at all. Thanks

I had the same problem. Try using this command to start quake 4.



quake4-demo +set s_driver oss

That fixed it for me hope it helps.

Now if someone could help me with my Q4 problem. When I try to start a game it comes back to the main menu. This is the error I get.

ERROR: Joint 'chest' not found for 'joint_head' on 'ad_intro_char_marine_3'

Can anyone help me fix this?

In the future please start your own threads rather than piggybacking someone else's. Do you have the latest client for Quake 4? The latest on the Id FTP Site is 1.2.1.
