i jsut upgraded to mplayer 1.0 pre2.6plf and it all went fine, it will play avi and mpeg files perfectly, however when i try to play .mov .asf or .wmv ...

mplayer 1.0 plays some formats at 2x speed
i jsut upgraded to mplayer 1.0 pre2.6plf and it all went fine, it will play avi and mpeg files perfectly, however when i try to play .mov .asf or .wmv (those are all i have availible) it runs at what seems like 2x speed.
any ideas? i THINK the foramts its screwing up were all in the win32 codecs pack, could this be the problem.

It doesn't give you any weird messages or anything? Is the sound high-pitched?

fixed it, ti was somethign wrong with my user config file. adn it wanted /dev/rtc to be accessible to users.
i really shoudl learn to read error messages
