erratic or choppy playback of xine and/or mplayer of wmv files
I'm trying to understand why my playback of wmv9 files is so choppy, actually more freeze frame like. It will stall then play, almost playing back as if it were a slide show, as opposed to a movie. Is there any remedy to this problem? I might add, that playback of mpg or mpeg files, is fine. It's only wmv9 playback that is so bad. Thanks.

Thought it might be processor speed...memory?
I thought it might be related to frame rate? Possibly processor speed?..how bout memory..? Funny thing is, under windows OS you can play any video or format (wmv9, mpg, etc) regardless of processor speed or memory. I am very reluctant to fool around with anything setting for the player, afraid it can make things even worse. I'd love to get a definite solution on this problem.
