I have fedora core 4 and installed xine-lib correctly on my puter. I still can not view mpeg video files.. any ideas on mabye I did it wrong?

I installed xine Correctly But still cant play videos.
I have fedora core 4 and installed xine-lib correctly on my puter. I still can not view mpeg video files.. any ideas on mabye I did it wrong?
this is what I did inside the xine-lib folder I had downloaded
And everything did what it was supposed to. I got no errors that I could see.Code:make make install make clean

Xine requires three things to properly run and play certain common MS Windows formats:
xine-lib - which you have
xine-ui - the user interface. Without this you cannot run xine.
win32codecs - the codec packages that allow you to playback certain formats.

I did not have xine-ui and win32codecs.. didnt know you had to have them. Thank you

You should look into using yum to install packages: http://fedoranews.org/tchung/howto/2...um-intro.shtml
It is a package manager which will download and install packages (along with its dependencies for you).
