Audicity
Long time no post.
Using Audacity in gentoo I immediately get an error. "There was an error initializing the audio i/o layer. You will not be able to play or record audio." Not so important to me, since I dont really need either of those, but when im trying to edit an mp3 (and yes I have lame) it wont let me cut, copy, or modify it in any way. Whats wrong here? Any ideas?
Thanks,
Wes

I think you do need the soundsystem for that. Just initiate Audacity via the aoss or artsdsp layer.
