kmail
Everyone seems to recomend kmail as a mail reader.. and I have to admit that it is a good aplication. the thing is that I REALLY dont like kde so I dont want it on my system. Could anyone sugest an alternative that is also not text based only. Is it still the case with evolution that you cannot view html emails as plain text? If so then i dont want to use that either:).

I can recomend mozilla mail, as it is very good! It has everything from filtersupport (useful for mailing lists, spam removal etc) to newsgroup support. You can also instal GPG if you're a security freak!
Good luck
