    Can anyone tell me how I can fix this?

    It seems like Mozilla can't display certain languages correctly. Would this have been effected by my decision to not compile every language with the kernel?

    I don't have any additional languages installed, but my mozilla displays those characters fine. How did you install FireBird? Maybe try installing it from source?
