    cups woes *fixed*

    hi all, i cannot get cups to work.
    im running xubuntu 6.06 and trying to configure cups via http://localhost:631/
    it finds my printer attached on usb1 (a samsung laser printer) which is all well and good but i cant actually install it, as when i press the add printer button. its asks for a user name/passwd and it neither accepts the root passwd or regular user passwd.
    please help!

    hehe, s'ok fixed it.
    the problem was that the web interface isnt set up for security reasons, so you need to do;
    "sudo adduser (your username) lpadmin"
    then;
    "sudo adduser cupsys shadow"
    then;
    "sudo /etc/init.d/cupsys restart"
    and go into http://localhost:631/ and continue with your setup!!!
