Standalone slide show box
Hi,
Not sure whether this is strictly the right forum to post in, but here goes.
I'm after some advice/suggestions/input on creating a standalone slide show box. It's for a little project for my work, basically they are planning on putting an LCD TV/monitor in our reception area and want to use a spare machine to constantly run a PowerPoint presentation on it and nothing else.
As our company policy seems to be not to throw anything away, ever, we have a number of fairly archaic machine kicking around spare (mainly P2 compaqs and upwards).
So rather than installing Windows and Office i was wondering what the best way to achieve this would be using linux, is there a distro specifically tailored for this (i wouldn't be surprised if there was!!) or could i get away with a LiveCD distro of sorts.
Any ideas would be gratefully received.
Cheers
Oh, I'm new to the forum so... Hi to everybody
