    root password setting?


    hi there
    i am completely new to linux but have found it very interesting.
    please assist me to set my root password. I dont seem to see where to specify it. i jus got myself a knoppix installation cd, and would like to use it on my machine.Each time i try to, i get stuck .Please help , i wish to be a linux guru Hey!

    press Alt-F2 and log in as root. If you see a # at the command promp, that means you're already root. Now type "passwd" and set your root password. Press Alt-F7 to get back in graphical mode.
