    There are a number of chess games for Linux. Here is a list of board games in general.

    Some of the available chess games are: 3D Chess, GNOME Chess, XBoard, Knights, and DreamChess.

    i've installed 3d chess&gnome chess

    the problem is i dont know how to run them....

    nothing adds to my games menu

    You should also try pychess - Pychess - News which is an excellent, gnomy chess client for Linux.
