    How to get LimeWire working?

Hello, I am running ubuntu 6.10 and just installed limewire through 'dpkg' after convering it from an 'rpm' using Alien. Now when I run the limewire through the terminal it gives me the following error message

    Code:
    runLime.sh: 44: Syntax error: "(" unexpected (expecting "}")
    Any help appreciated.

Just use "frostwire" instead. It's the same but with a cooler name :
    http://www.frostwire.com/

Or more info here on how to install limewire :

Also. Would you happen to know of another P2P app for linux that doesn't rely on java?

So did you install java ? The only important thing is to make sure your /etc/apt/sources.list file is rightly setup. If not, it will always be in the way, no matter what you try to install.

I will. But I also really want to get LimeWire/FrostWire working. This error is driving me nuts. Any ideas on how to fix it?
