big problem with XFREE
I have installed gentoo from stage1, so when I reboot my computer the first time (kernel: 2.6.4) there was not problems but when I try to run as a root:
/usr/X11R6/bin/xf86config
appeared a message:
cannot create directory /tmp/.xf86config40
when this happened the first time i though that there was a problem when I configured manually the kernel.
then I wrote in the bash: emerge genkernel
this utility configures and installs automatically a kernel for my computer. I also configure my "lilo.conf" and I wrote: /sbin/lilo...there was not problem.
Re-reboot my pc and the is the same problem.
what can I do?
