check this list of Windows Alternative Softwares in Linux.It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

I was just there doing some reading. They are all promoting their own software, but I was looking for something a little more objective.
Do you have an opinion on a news reader?

Well Casper... My sound works... finally!
But I'm a little miffed about it all, mainly because I've got no idea how I did it...!
So if it happens again I'd like to know how to fix it.
It must have been those M$oft gremlins oozing their way over from my other hard drive. HA!
Ah well, That's the problem when you've got 100 things going at once.

regarding news reader, i am using 'Akregator' for rss news feeds.
CasperIt is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
