    Help!!!! Love VI but it won't quit!



    After avoiding vi for a long time. I finally decided to try it and its great! I have been using it for a couple of months now and all of a sudden it won't accept any commands. If I ":q" or ":qw" it inserts a "M" at the cursor position and goes into insert mode.

    Help, I can't get anything done.

    BTW I did try to upgrade to 6.3
