    Wine Trouble Shooting

    Hello all,
I am a new Linux User. I was pretty excited when Ii came across Wine. I installed the latest available versio on my system.Unfortunately I was able to run only a small percentage of the initially planned windows applications I had decided to run.
Firstly I need some tips ..
About how to resume wine after it gives segmetation fault ...right nowI have to logout and login again to make it work...
Next how to modify my config file according to the needs of a application ...
Any other tips would be welcome
    Thnx in advance
    Amitava

PS. If you could give me some interesting urls where I can find popular linux packages it would be highly appreciated

First off, welcome to Linux and LFDO! Hope your stay is long and educational.

Secondly...wine is not suited for a lot of Windows apps. Winex was designed to handle the DirectX "mo' bettah" than wine. So depending on the app, you may want to look into winex (http://transgaming.com).

I've found that this is an unmatched wine/winex resource: http://frankscorner.org.

    Hope this helps!
