Adobe Acrobat and RH 9
I have downloaded and installed Adobe acrobat reader for Linux. I did so even though RH comes with the XPDF reader. I like adobe. I am still partial to the programs and utilities that I used in WINDOWS. Now that I have the Adobe reader installed I want it to be the DEFAULT application when PDF files are read. I think it might be in my bash.src file or somewhere but I am not sure.
Thanks in Advance.
So have you already googled "linux file associations" ? If so what did you find?
I know when I installed Adobe Acrobat I couldn't get it to be the default application for PDF documents. The defaults seemed to stay with 2 programs that come with RH9 (XPDF and something else).
I even tried to change the association but to no avail....
I see this post hasn't been answered or replied to for that fact - so I thought I'd jump on the band-wagon.....
But then you'd be directing people away from this site to other sites.
Much better to answer and bask in that warm glow of oneness and smugness.
yeah but google is a person best friend when looking for quick answers :)
I did find one
Though I'm curious as to what goes on with Linux RH9. Why does it do this?
I have RH9 as a secondary boot on my work pc and solely on my home pc. They use the same builds, very similar hardware, yet sometimes very different results. (Basically, I use my work pc as a pre-emptive trial for what I'm going to do at home, to make sure I have all files etc)
