Bluefish or Quanta Plus?

Running Xubuntu and can't decide on which html editor to use. :confused:

Bluefish is nice and simple but Quanta Plus seems to have more features. Like being able to parse the pages through apache on localhost and a nice quick visual tab.

Anyone have a preference?

Or any alternatives?

I like Bluefish when running Gnome, and Quanta Plus when running KDE.

You should try Komposer. It's (imo) the best webdesign tool for linux. It's also in the repositories.

I prefer Quanta, but lately I have been using Aptana Studio. You will need java to be installed because its built on Eclipse.

I just can't get to to grips with how it edits css files, does my head in.

I just use a regular editor. I don't need any integration with apache nor things like that. I can have a live view of my site on a browser window on a separate workspace (I have a browser always open anyway, so...). Kate is particularly good since the kio integration makes it possible to edit remote sites on a live fashion.

I also don't understand why would I have to use a different editor depending on my desktop.

Like most things, this is all about tastes. Each one has his/her own formula here, as in most things.
