Download tool neaded

I use clive to download you tube videos I am looking for a tool to do the same thing for Facebook and other video hosting sites.
Any suggestions.

If you know the actual file URI, then you should be able to use the wget command-line tool.

Wget works well for me. You might find this little tool helpful too.

I tried to use wget on facebook but all I get is a file saying to please use a compatible browser.

You need the actual URI (Universal Resource Identifier - same as what most call a URL) to the video file, such as server.domain.com/directory/filename.flv and so forth.

I use DownloadHelper in Firefox for this. It's not a command line solution, though.

From youtube, I use youtube-dl see youtube-dl. I have not tried to use it to download from Facebook, etc.
