firefox wont run

I've installed firefox 9.3-1 and I can bring up the profile screen no problem, but after that nothing happens.. I don't get any errors or window or anything.. it just blips out ....
Any idea what might be the issue?

I had to delete my profile and create a new one. This sounds like a daunting task, but if you make a backup of the entire directory of your current profile, you can then copy all the information over your new and everything should be there.

I've done that a few times already :-( no effect.

maybe check out the mozilla forums - they have a huge searchable database as well as many knowledgable folk who'll answer your question: http://forums.mozillazine.org

fixed it.. solution here:

xhost +localhost
su - root
export DISPLAY=localhost:0
firefox
(launched fine for root this time, close firefox)
exit
Then log out of KDE and log back into KDE..
