gphoto2 - changing the filename when capturing an image
Still fairly new to linux so apologies for any obvious mistakes or missed out detail in advance.
I've downloaded gphoto2 off the gphoto2 website so it should be the newest version (gphoto2-2.4.11) onto a computer running debian 6.0.2. I am using a Canon EOS digital rebel DS126071, which is on the list of supported cameras.
I assume that the install worked as i the camera is found by auto-detect and the --list-files and --capture-image-and-download commands all work. However when i try to specify the filename as the date using --capture-image-and-download --filename "%Y.%m.%d.%H.%M.%S.jpg" i get the following error:
gphoto2 --capture-image-and-download --filename "%Y.%m.%d.%H.%M.%S.jpg"
Detected a 'Canon:EOS 350D (normal mode)'.
New file is in location /DCIM/112CANON/IMG_1210.JPG on the camera
Downloading 'IMG_1210.JPG' from folder '/DCIM/112CANON'...
*** Error ***
canon_usb_set_file_attributes: canon_usb_dialogue failed
Saving file as 1970.01.01.01.00.00.jpg
Deleting file /DCIM/112CANON/IMG_1210.JPG on the camera
Deleting 'IMG_1210.JPG' from folder '/DCIM/112CANON'...
Clearly i did not take the photo at 1:00am, January 1st 1970... I've checked the camera and computer and both have the correct date and time.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, i think i may have accidentally posted this twice so if so, my apologies.
