kopete 0.72 MSN issues
I have installed kopete 0.72. I am running KDE 3.1.12.
At this stage I am only interested in MSN so I selected that one.
When I start Kopete from the command line , it opens up briefly and I see the icon in the system tray.
When I click the icon it opens up and my MSN butterfly in the lower right corner is grayed out. The connect all button has a question mark in a purple circle on it . When I click this button my groups show up briefly and kopete quits and dissappear out of the tray.
Any ideas? I have added the useragent option in the kopeterc file
does it come back with any errors in the terminal
I started Kopete from the command line and opens up briefly. The following gets returned in my terminal:
kopete: relocation error: kopete: undefined symbo l: _ZN13KNotifyClient5eventEiRK7QStringS2_
I did not notice this yesterday
i think its because micrshaft alterd there network for "security" reasons but the only real affect was to stop linux clients connecting.
notice the bit that says notify client.. well i hear that anyone useing the official msn cliet gets a window popping up constantly telling them to upgrade and it stops them from connecting. i beleive one of the other msn clients for linux has allready solved the problem or is at least working on it. i saw that in this forum actualy so have a look with the search option
An upgrade to KDE 3.1.4 has solved the problem,
cool.. do you know what was really causeing it?
Not at all. According to the website that error was caused by the fact that the rpm were compliled on kde 3.1.1 and that I was running kde 3.1.0.
this was not the case. I was running 3.1.2.
