Linux equivalent to replace MS Outlook and Hot Sync?
hi all. i am about one app away from getting my dad to switch to Linux, but i've run into a problem.
my dad uses a palm pilot (Palm T3) along with Hot Sync and Outlook at work to update a scheduler on his palm pilot that tells him when his appointments are. here is the scenario:
a secretary uses some feature in MS Outlook to arrange appointments. MS Outlook, which is on the computer on which the appointment was made, updates a central server at my dad's work with the info. my dad goes on his computer periodically, with MS Outlook installed as well. on his computer, Outlook updates his appointments by downloading the info off the central server which has been updated by the uploaded info from the secretary's computer running Outlook. he then uses Hot Sync to transfer the appointment info from Outlook on his computer to his palm pilot. so he can pretty much retrieve all of his appointments with one quick action on his computer.
any suggestions for a linux alternative?
